The TV commercial workout: Burn calories while you are watching your favorite show!

Image

On average there is about 12-15 minutes of commercials per hour of TV shows. Each commercial break typically lasts between 3-4 minutes (yes I counted) and occurs at least 3 times throughout the show. Instead of getting up to go grab that last ice-cream sandwich in the fridge, use those 3-4 minutes to boost your metabolism while you sit and enjoy your show. By doing these quick exercises during the commercial breaks, you can burn up to 200 more calories than if you just sat there waiting impatiently for your show to come back on. Not only will you burn calories while you do your 3-4 minute exercises during break, but you will create an “after burn” during your recovery period lounging on the couch. You can even allow yourself that ice-cream sandwich when you’re done to reward yourself! J

Commercial Break 1:

30 Jumping Jacks

25 Crunches

15 Body weight squats

10 push-ups (on your feet or your knees)

5 Burpees

(Keep repeating until commercial break ends)

Commercial Break 2:

30 Front kicks

25 slow bicycle crunches

15 Sumo squats

10 Lunges (5 on each leg)

5 Double crunches

(Keep repeating until commercial break)

Commercial Break 3:

30 Air Jump ropes (Jumping rope without a jump rope)

25 Back kicks

15 Leg bridges

10 Plank twists

5 Squat jacks

(Keep repeating until commercial break)
