Why you shouldn’t eat before bed

Ghrelin is a hormone that stimulates hunger so normally your goal is to keep those hormone levels low. However, at night you want your ghrelin levels to rise. Your body requires ghrelin to move effectively through all the necessary phases of sleep. Without the proper progression, you won’t get to stage 4 sleep which is the phase of deep sleep (REM), during which you get a big pulse of growth hormone that helps protect levels of leptin, the hormone that tells your brain you’re full. To keep ghrelin levels up at night, don’t eat after 9 p.m. Sleep is super important for weight loss. If you don’t get at least 6 hours of sleep most nights, weight loss is almost impossible..So shut that TV off and go to bed!!!!Image
